Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about using Karafuru.
Karafuru is your all-in-one photobooth software. It provides a beautiful customizable desktop app to capture photos (using a DSLR or webcam), and a web dashboard to manage events, track earnings, and send photos to guests instantly.
Karafuru seamlessly integrates with digiCamControl to manage your DSLR. Here's how to set it up:
Step 1: Download and install digiCamControl on your Windows PC.
Step 2: Connect your camera to the computer via USB and turn it on.
Step 3: In your camera settings, ensure the USB connection mode is set to PTP or PC Remote (not Mass Storage).
Step 4: Open Karafuru, go to Settings → Hardware, and select DSLR. Karafuru will automatically launch digiCamControl in the background.
When a camera struggles to connect, checking these fixes covers 99% of issues:
- Close other camera apps: Make sure EOS Utility, Nikon Camera Control, or any webcam utilities are completely closed.
- Check the Web Server: Open the digiCamControl app manually, go to File → Settings → Web Server, and ensure Enable is checked. Karafuru uses this to communicate.
- Change USB port: Sometimes front USB ports lack power. Try plugging directly into a back USB port on your PC.
